Welcome to Design2Repeat: Where Creativity Meets Technology (Across Continents!)

Welcome To Design2Repeat Where Creativity Meets Technology (across continents)
Hey there! We’re thrilled you’ve stumbled upon our little corner of the internet. Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee (or tea, if that’s your thing), and let us tell you about this exciting journey we’re on with Design2Repeat.
We’re a dynamic duo – sister-in-laws- with one foot in the professional world and another in the creative world. Weird combo, right? But trust us, it’s led to some pretty interesting adventures over the years.

The Backstory (Because Every Good Story Needs One)

We are sure that it’s not too difficult to picture this for many of you out there: One of us is knee-deep in IT projects in Germany, customizing software and making complex systems play nice. The other? She’s over in the US, diving into the intricacies of medical coding and auditing, also gradually mastering more complex technical workflows with technology. Fun times, let us tell you. But here’s the thing – while we’re busy with our respective careers, we both have this nagging feeling that something is missing.
Don’t get us wrong, we love our professions. But there’s this creative itch that just won’t go away. You know those people who doodle during meetings or get lost staring at patterns in the office carpet? Yep, that’s us. Guilty as charged.
Having an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong family bond, we’ve always wanted to combine our strengths to collaborate and establish a family business. But with an ocean between us? That seemed like a pipe dream. Until now.
The Lightbulb Moment
For years, we’ve been dancing this dance – juggling our day jobs with our secret artistic pursuits. But it wasn’t until this year that things really clicked.
Picture a typical family video call. Pixelated faces? Check. “You’re on mute” moments? Double-check. It was during one of these calls that we had our “aha” moment.
There I was, explaining some techy workflow thing (as one does), when my sister-in-law started showing off her latest artwork. And that’s when it hit us – we were two sides of the same coin.
“I can create all day,” she said, “but when it comes to getting my art out there? I’m still figuring out the digital maze.”
Meanwhile, I’m over here implementing complex systems, always looking for ways to include some form of art (dance, ceramics, painting…) in my life.
Boom. Lightbulb moment. But instead of a lightbulb, imagine a whole Christmas tree lighting up – in two different time zones!
And just like that, over a transcontinental video call that will go down in family history, the seed for Design2Repeat was planted. Who says long-distance family chats can’t be productive?
What the Heck is Design2Repeat Anyway?
Good question! We’re glad you asked (even though we’re the ones writing this, but let’s pretend, shall we?). Design2Repeat is our way of bridging the gap between art, technology, and professional expertise. It’s a place where:
-
- Artists can learn how to make their beautiful creations play nice with the digital world (SEO and Content Management, anyone?)
-
- Tech-savvy folks can tap into their inner Picasso (or at least try to draw something better than stick figures)
-
- Everyone can explore the wonderful world of surface pattern design (because who doesn’t love a good repeating pattern?)
Think of us as your friendly neighborhood tech-art translators. We’re not here to blind you with science or dazzle you with artistic jargon, all backed by years of professional experience across continents. We’re here to make the tech world a little more colorful and the art world a little more tech-savvy. Or something like that – we’re still working on the elevator pitch!
But Why Should You Care?
Look, we get it. You’re probably thinking, “That’s great and all, but what’s in it for me?” Well, let us tell you this:
Long years back, one of us (the tech-savvy artist) was implementing a complex GIS for a government institution. The system was perfect – efficient, powerful, and… completely incomprehensible to the end-users. It was a classic case of “you don’t know what you don’t know.” At the same time, I was struggling to find ways to make the interface more intuitive and, dare I say, beautiful.
That’s where Design2Repeat comes in. We’re here to help artists navigate the confusing world of digital marketing, SEO, and online presence, while also inspiring tech folks to embrace their creative side. Because let’s face it – in today’s world, even Michelangelo would need a good website with SEO, and even the most hardcore coder could benefit from a splash of artistic flair.

The Road Ahead
Now, we’ll be honest with you – we’re figuring some of this out as we go along. There will probably be some bumps in the road, maybe a few wrong turns, and definitely some moments where we question our sanity (and our ability to function on little sleep across time zones). But you know what? That’s all part of the adventure.
Launching this business has been a dream of ours for a long time, and it’s exciting to see it becoming a reality this year. Despite the challenges of being on separate continents, in different time zones, and balancing this with our day jobs, we’re making it happen through long FaceTime calls, a lot of sweat, meticulous prioritization, and diligent work. It’s proof that with determination and a strong family bond, distance is just a number.
So, whether you’re an artist looking to conquer the digital world, a tech whiz curious about tapping into your creative side, or just someone who enjoys a good rambling blog post, we invite you to join us on this journey.
Let’s explore, create, and maybe learn a thing or two along the way. Who knows? We might even have some fun in the process.
Welcome to Design2Repeat, folks. Let’s make some magic happen – across continents and time zones!
P.S. If you spot any typos, just pretend they’re there on purpose. It adds character, right? Right? (And if you notice any odd posting times, remember – we’re working across time zones here!)
